She's
Somewhere Between a Juice Cleanse or Ice Cream for Dinner and Despite What
Jersey Shore Says, Nicole Acevedo Is In Fact, The Sweetest *Mean Girl* You’ll Ever
Meet. Here Is The Short Fairytale Of How Nicooler Became My Lady Soulmate. For Viewers’
Discretion, I Condensed The True Story.
If you haven't
guessed by now, Nicooler is not her name. Nicooler is a real-life, yet
fictional character who pulls all-nighters with me during Finals Week at the University
of Houston Library to map out blue prints of our Boyfriends' Fraternity Formal
Coolers together. She was the gal who picked me up off the doorstep and taught
me how to design and paint a cooler from scratch. This will be more relevant when
you see my next blog post on how crafty she is!Anyway, they say you can take the girl out of a sorority but you can't take the sorority out of a girl. She's living proof of that. In between her new Financial Advising internship, meal replacement shakes, full-time summer school to graduate early (who does that?),and turning 21, she finds time to put together the birthday gift of the century and have it sent to my hotel in Atlanta. I’ll show you the gift in my next blog post. First, I want to tell you some things you need to know about Nicole.
Key Takeaways:
1. Can you say “T.R.E.N.D.S.E.T.T.E.R?”
Her style is inspiring and she is wearing, reading, sharing, or saying things before
they become popular. She makes “fetch” happen. Collectively, we make a pretty
good team. In later posts, we will show you some of the costumes we’ve
collaborated on over the years.
2. Nicole is insanely goal-oriented.
Some of us sit around and wish and wonder how awesome it would be to get
something we dream of without having to work for it, but Nicole just goes out
and gets it. She’s different than most.
3. She wears work-out clothes a
lot, and sometimes doesn’t work out. But who doesn’t? Jessie James-Decker does
it and sometimes I think her and Nicole look so much alike, so it’s acceptable.
4. She’s a hoarder-the good kind.
I swear to you you-She owns 20 different pairs of ice cream paint job Jordan’s/Nikes.
90s kids get it. We wore them in middle school, she’s just the only one who has
saved them through the years. I owe us being best dressed at this year’s Neon
Nights Fraternity Paint Party to having her old school neon J’s on our feet.
5. She is half Puerto Rican and
I am half Mexican which is the equivalent of one full Latina. So if we get
carried away on posts about Margaritas, Tamales, Horchata Rum, or Plantains, we
are not complete posers.
Stay tuned to get some ideas on what to do for a friend’s birthday present or
how to craft one!
